BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Police Fugitive Unit arrested a man in Chelsea early Wednesday morning in connection with a sexual assault that happened last week in the Boston Public Garden.

The Boston Police Department said officers took 38-year-old Fransisco Romero into custody at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Library Street in Chelsea.

Romero had a warrant out for his arrest for Aggravated Rape, Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Kidnapping. He is accused of kidnapping a female victim near Tremont Street at around 2 a.m. on November 8th, forcing her to walk through Boston Common and into the Public Garden, where he allegedly assaulted her.
