BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — When you dream of a Thanksgiving meal do you find yourself drooling over the sides or the main dish?
Campbell's released its 'State of the Sides' holiday food-focused trend report to help bring an end to the holiday food debate. The report revealed 66 percent of survey participants said they prefer sides to the holiday entrée.
The top five most popular holiday side dishes were mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, and mac and cheese.

73 percent of participants complained that they run out of space on their plates for sides, but this didn't stop them from making them. 90 percent of people surveyed said they plan on serving the same amount of sides at holiday gatherings, despite the lack of space on their plates.
While turkey legs, potatoes, and green beans are a few holiday classics, almost half of the participants said they plan on trying out some new recipes.
The report was conducted through a consumer survey and primary research.
