Governor Baker Signs Letter Urging Congress To Protect DREAMERS

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Governor Baker is among a dozen governors across the country who are demanding urgent action from congress to keep Deferred Action For Childhood Arrival (DACA) recipients in the U.S. They say 12,000 dreamers have already lost their protective status and are susceptible to deportation.

“The young adults and the kids who are part of the DACA program  make up about 800,000 young men and women in this country who who have really played by the rules  they have agreed to either work, go to school or serve in the military. They have agreed to check-in every couple of years. They are big contributors to the communities that they live in,” Baker said.

Vermont governor Phil Scott also signed the letter.
