PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Ocean State will be getting either waves or bridges on their new license plates. As Rhode Island Governor Dan Mckee announced the finalists for the Division of Motor Vehicles State Plate Design Contest on Monday.
"Hundreds of people stepped up and submit their creative designs. Thank you to all who took the time to enter our contest," Governor McKee said.
The R.I DMV said that it's now up to the public to decide which entry will be selected as the new stock plate reissuance design. Officials said that the voting period began Monday afternoon, and ends on Monday, March 28 at 11:59 p.m.
