BELLINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — When someone challenged WBZ NewsRadio's Matt Shearer to "try and find something cool" in Bellingham, he got in his car, plugged in his GPS and took off.

Turns out Bellingham is the home to the first Cumberland Farms, founded in 1957. According to Cumberland Farms, the location was the first of it's kind to the region and revolutionized how New England got it's milk. By 1960, so-called "milk stores" were popping up throughout the Northeast.

The original Cumberland Farms is no longer there, but it's modern replacement is pretty spiffy and draws residents to get their coffee on a daily basis.

Bellingham also has a number of eateries like Dairy Queen, Outback Steakhouse and Grumpy's, where Matt took a break and ordered a grilled cheese pizza.

"It's the greatest town to live in," one resident said.
