BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - A commercial building in Bridgewater is considered a total loss following a two-alarm fire this week.
Firefighters responded to the fire at 1221 Bedford Street just before noon on Thursday, November 9th. When crews arrived, they were met with heavy smoke pouring from the second story.
"Firefighters soon began an interior attack but withdrew because they were overcome by heat." Officials wrote in a release.
The fire was under control less than an hour later, but the building was declared a total loss.
Authorities said the cause of the fire remains under investigation but at this point in their investigation, it does not appear to be suspicious.
