BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Switching on the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday, viewers might be interested to know that some of this year's nominees have Commonwealth representation.
For the "Best Picture" category two of the ten films were shot in Massachusetts, including Netflix's Don't Look Up and CODA, which was shot in Gloucester where the story takes place. Even more so, the Writer and Director of CODA, Sian Heder, was born in Cambridge and has been nominated for "Best Adopted Screenplay."

Free Guy was filmed all over Boston and Framingham, and was put up for the "Best Visual Effects" category.
For "Best Animated Feature," Raya and the Last Dragon was nominated, that film had Quincy-born Peter Del Vecho as a Producer. Dune was nominated in ten separate categories, one of which was "Best Sound" something that Editor Mark Mangini of Boston worked on.
