FOXBORO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — With their National Football League Wild Card Round game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Jerod Mayo, former linebacker and current New England Patriots inside linebacker coach may entertain the thought of heading out west.
The Denver Broncos fired their head coach Vic Fangio over the weekend, and have requested permission to interview Mayo for the open position. Mayo was asked on Tuesday if he would be taking the interview.

"Right now my focus is on the Buffalo Bills- I'll absolutely take the interview, but right now it's all about the Bills," Mayo said.
In terms of his attention to the game affecting his potential interview, Mayo said he is not worried.
"You know if that causes me not to get a job, because I'm focused on the job at hand- so be it. I am happy here and if I don't get the job because I'm focused on beating the Buffalo Bills- I'm okay. I was a first round draft pick in 2008, I'm okay," Mayo said.
Mayo went on to say that being a head coach has always been one of his goals.
