Driver With Suspended License Allegedly Causes School Bus Crash In Barre

BARRE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Just after 7 a.m. on Thursday, there was a collision involving a white motor vehicle and a school bus that crossed over the centerline, causing the bus to lose control and strike a guardrail and trees. At the time of the crash, there were students on the bus, but there were no serious injuries sustained. The students were evaluated, and one was transported as a precaution, according to a press release on the Barre Police Department’s Facebook page. The driver of the vehicle was later identified by authorities as 32-year-old Cedric Cooley of Orange, MA. Cooley was placed in custody and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Reckless Endangerment of a Child, among other charges.  

Mr. Cooley was transported to the East Brookfield District Court.
