BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Before settling in at the Thanksgiving dinner table on Thursday, several New England high school football teams are taking their holiday games out to Boston's signature ballpark.
Starting Tuesday night, teams will compete in a double header at Fenway Park, followed by a triple header on Wednesday. According to Fenway Sports Management, the return of high school football to the ballpark comes just ahead of the first-ever Wasabi Fenway Bowl, an annual college football game happening there on December 17.
“We are thrilled to host high school football once again at Fenway Park. Thanksgiving rivalry games are always a highlight of the high school football season and adding the iconic backdrop of Fenway Park will only make the occasion more special for the players, coaches, and fans," said Fenway Sports Management President Mark Lev.

WBZ's Mike Macklin was there to witness the renewal of the Thanksgiving football tradition, and spoke to alumni of Boston Latin Academy who were geared up for their game Tuesday.
"High school football, nothing like it right? When we went to high school, the school was right behind Fenway Park so for us it's a really special time to be able to come back and see the team play on the field," BLA alumni Rich Lynns said.
According to Major League Baseball, the Wasabi Fenway Bowl will mark the first college football Division 1 bowl game to held in New England.
