16-Year-Old Charged In Whitman Stabbing

WHITMAN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A teen from Whitman is accused of stabbing another boy.

Officers responded to a home on Washington Street near Belcher Drive around 9:30 pm Sunday night.

The 16-year-old victim, a sophomore at Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. As of Monday afternoon he is in fair condition and expected to survive.

According to police the altercation happened at the victim's home.

The suspect, also 16, is charged with assault to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

According to a friend of the victim, the incident stems from an argument on social media over a sleepover.
