BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — New Health's CEO cut the ribbon Monday on a new pharmacy he said will bring affordable drugs to an underserved Charlestown community.
"The federal government gives us a grant to be able to provide pharmacy services at a low cost to our patients," CEO Vin Scibelli told WBZ NewsRadio's Carl Stevens. "So we're able to purchase those prescriptions at a low cost and give the savings back to our patients."
New Health's new facility came amid a slew of pharmacy closures across Boston.
Walgreens locations in Roxbury, Mattapan and Hyde Park have shuttered in the past year.

New Health operates in affiliation with Mass General Brigham and Boston Medical Center.
It opened a Charlestown health center in 2016.
The pharmacy is located in the same building as the health center, 15 Tufts St.
