"I pull up the mortar and I was like, 'Oh, oh no, that’s a bomb,'" Martell said. "And I knew right away. And as soon as I put it down, I saw that it had the head on it still, and I was like, 'I’m gonna have to call the police.'"

Needham Police said officers and firefighters responded to the scene and shut down Kendrick Street at 4th Avenue as they waited for the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad to arrive.

Kendrick Street has since reopened. Police said there is no danger to the public and the incident appears to be isolated.
