BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A vacant space where Sears once used to sell hundreds of washing machines will soon be the place to go for hundreds of COVID-19 vaccines.
Starting Monday, those with an appointment to get their shot at the Natick Mall can find the new vaccination site inside the old Sears store, just below Dave & Busters, adjacent to parking lot C.
As long as the state's website doesn't crash again like it did earlier this week, those eligible for a vaccine should be able to book an appointment there on a weekday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
LabCorp will be managing the vaccination site, and this week they plan to administer 500 doses per day. However, that number will soon shoot up to 3,000 per day.
Sears at the Natick Mall won't be the only giant empty retail space to serve as a vaccine location. Another mass vaccination site is expected to open in Dartmouth on Wednesday at an old Circuit City.
