Mother Of Missing Five-Year-Old Pleads Not Guilty To Charges

CONCORD, NH. (WBZ NewsRadio) – On Wednesday, the mother of missing five-year-old Elijah Lewis and her boyfriend pleaded not guilty to multiple charges they both face.

Danielle Dauphinais, 35, and Joseph Stapf, 30, were arraigned virtually from jail to the Hillsborough County Superior Court on charges of child endangerment and witness tampering.

Both will remain in custody while details of their bail are worked out with the court. Once they are, released they are not allowed to leave New Hampshire, according to the judge.

This comes as officials continue their search for Elijah after they became aware of his unknown whereabouts last Thursday, October 14.

Investigators believe Elijah was last seen at his home sometime within the last 30 days and that he was never reported missing to authorities prior to this time.

On October 17, officers in the Bronx, New York located and arrested Dauphinais and Stapf.
