NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — State Police said a New Bedford teenager is dead after driving into the woods off Route 140 Saturday morning.
Police responded to a report of a car in the woods off of Exit 7 at around 2:30 AM Saturday. First responders said the Kia Optima had flown off the ramp, smashed into a metal post, and hit a tree in the woods.
Three bystanders were trying to help a victim when police arrived. He appears to have been thrown from the car.
Police further identified the victim as a 19-year-old New Bedford man, but did not release a name.
