TAUNTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A mother and daughter from Taunton have opened their own boutique shop downtown, full of colorful in-house designs from every line of the rainbow.

Jodly Delia and her daughter Karm-Syndia Augustin opened KatieJodly boutique in October on Weir Street with a wide selection of fashion threads such as Karabella from Haiti, and Ankara, Dashiki or Kente from African countries.

Augustin said that being a seamstress runs in her family.

"My grandmother was a seamstress, so she taught my mom how to make clothes, when I was a kid my mom always made my outfits. She would get Communion orders from certain schools, uniform orders, we do have a traditional Haitian collection, however 90 percent of the store are original designs that anyone can wear," Augustin said.

All hand-made outfits were tagged with the words "Made by KatieJodly," a majority of the clothing sport those tags.

The boutique shop also said they specialize in making matching outfits for families.

Augustin said that customers often ask "can you make a mini, a baby version, an 8-year-old version with the same color and same fabric. We can customize it."
