ANDOVER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Brothers turned enemies... in the name of Christmas spirit.

Tim and Bill Cleary are brothers who normally get along great, that is until it's time to decorate their houses for Christmas.

"We're best friends until there's a competition and then he's my absolute enemy," Bill Cleary of Andover told WBZ's Shari Small.

On Mary Lou Lane in Andover, Bill has his house decorated in 4,000 lights set to music in a 25-minute choreographed show. While on Lisa Lane in North Andover, Tim used his computer background knowledge and a projector to have his own high-tech lights display.

"It's essentially a projection movie on the house that runs about seven or eight songs," Tim said. "It looks like there's actual lights on the house."

While Bill and Tim can't agree on whose lights display is better, they do agree that around Christmas they go from brothers to rivals.

"He is my absolute best friend, but once it comes to competition there's no friends anymore, now it's just down to who can do it better," Tim said.

Bill's light show is on every night at 7 Mary Lou Lane in Andover. Tim's is on weekend nights at 92 Lisa Lane in North Andover.
