BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) Franklin Park Zoo celebrated a very special birthday with blood-flavored treats on Saturday.

African lion brothers, Dinari and Kamaia, celebrated their 14th birthday with a day of roaring celebration on Saturday. Franklin Park Zoo had a day of crafts, educational activities, and games for the public to enjoy.

"It's our baby's first birthday and she loves animals and lions in particular so that's why we are here," one guest told WBZ's James Rojas. "She's been drooling all morning to meet the lions."

Dinari and Kamaia received special treats of whipped cream and blood-sicles.

"Just like us we like a little bit of topping on our cake so they have a blood-sicle treat that they can lick and then on top is some whipped cream, which is a really big treat for them," said Nicole Hellmuth, senior zoo keeper.

The lion brothers received lots of special attention and even got birthday cards from their zoo family.
