Gas Prices In Massachusetts Lower, Drop Another Ten Cents

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Gas prices are lowering in Massachusetts ahead of holiday traveling.

Gas prices in the state have gone down about 10 cents a gallon since last week and almost 40 cents since last month, AAA announced on Monday. The average price of regular gas is $3.44 a gallon, while premium gas is 4.39 a gallon. Last month, regular gas was $3.82 a gallon, while premium gas was $4.68.

While the price of gas in Massachusetts is lowering, it is still above the national average price of $3.14. The average price of regular gas in Massachusetts was $3.39 this time last year, making it about five cents higher this year.

The least expensive New England state to buy gas is Connecticut with an average of $3.20 this week, according to AAA. In New Hampshire, the average price of regular gas is $3.32, while it is about $3.48 in Maine, $3.46 in Vermont, and $3.33 in Rhode Island.
