Want A Fire Truck? Brockton Auctions Off Used Fire Truck To Highest Bidder

BROCKTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Ever dreamed of having your very own fire truck? The City of Brockton is giving the highest bidder a chance to own a used fire truck through the online auction ending on Monday.

The city's procurement department is auctioning off a 1981 Mack Model CF611F fire truck. The truck has 75,587 miles on it and is in good condition, city officials said in a statement. The truck has an E6-260 engine and ALLISON HT-740D transmission.

"The truck is perfect for a construction business, landscaping company, or volunteer fire department!" officials said.

Massachusetts residents can bid on the truck online in the government auction. On Saturday, the price was at $4,700.00 with seven bids. The auction will close just before midnight on November 21, 2022.

All proceeds from the auction will go to improving the City of Brockton and helping the community. The money could go toward road maintenance, setting up local events, community programs, and public safety initiatives, according to a statement.
