FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Scams are getting more and more convincing. One Stoneham woman is warning others after she fell for a scam while sitting in her parked car.

Eileen Savoia had just gone shopping at the Target Plaza in Framingham when she got into her car to leave and a man knocked on her window.

"Somebody knocked on my window and a guy came to my window and said you got something wrong with your tire," Savoia told WBZ’s Suzanne Sausville.

Then she noticed another man standing on the right side of her car. Her instincts told her something was fishy, but she decided to get out and look. There was a brown liquid dripping from the rim of her tires. She grew concerned something may be wrong with the car.

Savoia decided to make a call.

"Figured I better call AAA so I go in my purse for my wallet to get my AAA card and there's no wallet," she said.

The men had taken her wallet and gone straight to the ATM to try and withdraw money from her account. It wasn't until later that she realized the brown liquid was something less concerning ... a salad dressing.

"They poured like balsamic vinegar so when I was looking at my tires I'm like oh my god," she said.

Savoia is now warning others to be careful and be aware of stranger danger.

"I couldn't believe someone would do that to me and I would hate to see that happen to anybody else, especially with the holidays coming," she said.

Police are investigating the incident. No arrests have been made at this time.
