Goffstown, NH Shooting Victim Identified

GOFFSTOWN, NH (WBZ-AM) -- A shooting at a local hardware store in Goffstown, NH left one man dead and residents locked in their homes for several hours Sunday.

Police in New Hampshire have identified the shooting victim as Ian Jewell, 18 of Manchester, NH. Jewell died after being taken to a local hospital following a shooting in the parking lot of the Ace Hardware store on 5.Depot St. 

According to New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald, Goffstown Police were called to the scene around 4:20 p.m. and area residents were told to shelter in place for several hours following the shooting. 

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday to determine Mr. Jewell’s cause and manner of death.

According to the state's Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Jennie V. Duval, the autopsy determined that that Jewell's cause of was a single gunshot wound to the chest and the manner of death is homicide. '

The investigation is ongoing and, although all individuals connected to this death are known, no arrests have been made and no names of suspects have been released.
