Andover Digging Out From Storm


ANDOVER, MA (WBZ-AM)  -- Andover is one of the many communities with streets partially blocked by down tree branches and most residents without power.

According to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Power Outage Map at 3:21 PM nearly 10,212  customers are without power, approximately 72-percent  of the town.

Andover Deputy Fire Chief Michael Mansfield says the scene is pretty much the same across town.

"We have several streets that's very difficult to navigate around town" he said.

they are opening warming centers during the day at the senior center and the library....for the duration---which could be into the weekend.

"This looks to be a longer long term event for us, similar to what happened last month," he said.

That's the storm that blasted the state with hurricane force wind gusts and heavy rain. Andover was without power for about three days.
