BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- While it may be cold outside, golf is back in Boston at the City's two municipal golf courses.
The William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park, the one of the second oldest public golf course, and George Wright Golf Course in Hyde Park opened Friday for the 2018 season.
The start of golf season is always exciting for those who like to hit the links.
Golf Pro Scott Allen tells WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Ben Parker that a lot lot golfers are certainly in the mood to tee off.
"Oh absolutely and you get the masters going on you get that par three tournaments this time of year with the masters it really helps," Allen said.
It's a big year too for both courses. Crews at finishing up renovation at the clubhouse and gearing up for two big tournaments over the summer.
The Massachusetts Amateur Championship will be played in July both courses and the Massachusetts Women's Amateur Championship and Presidents Cup will be held at George Wright Golf Course from July 30 August 2nd.
