SALEM, Mass. (WBZ-AM) — A new marijuana dispensary opened in Salem Saturday. Police said there have been no issues with the opening.

“Everything is going very smoothly down there. There’s no issues,” Officer Charles McKenna, a dispatcher with the Salem Police Department, said.

According to McKenna, there are a couple of extra details on the scene, but since the shop handles customers by appointment, the opening is orderly and is expected to be so for the next seven days.

“No folks showing up just to look, they’ve booked only the people showing up to buy their materials,” McKenna said.

WBZ NewsRadio1030 checked in with nearby business Flying Saucer Pizza, which revealed they have not seen any uptick in their business due to the opening.
