3 Alarm Fire In Cambridge Displaces Two and Kills Dog

CAMBRIDGE, MA  (WBZ-AM)--A quickly escalating fire broke out around 6 a.m. Sunday morning at a home on Van Norden Street in Cambridge. According to the city’s fire department the blaze went from one to three alarms in twenty minutes.  Officials say much of the fire was trapped inside of the walls. A woman, a girl and a pet dog were rescued. Another dog in the building did not survive.

One firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene but no other injuries have been reported. There is no word on the cause of the fire but officials say hoarding conditions inside the house made it difficult to get the fire under control.
