Man Killed In Dorchester Shooting In Boston’s First 2019 Homicide

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) — The Boston Police Department confirmed the city’s first homicide of 2019. Police located a man, early 30s, with a gunshot wound in his chest on Johnston Road in Dorchester around 3 a.m. The man later died at a hospital. Police are now investigating. 

The incident is one of two shootings that occurred in Dorchester early New Year’s Day. The other shooting left a man with a gunshot wound in the hip.

Police also found ballistics on the ground when they responded to a separate incident on Mariposa Street. There were no victims at the scene.

A female victim was stabbed early Tuesday morning on Clarkson Street, also in Dorchester. She was found unconscious just after 5 a.m. and is now in critical condition.
