BOSTON (WBZ-AM) — A Newton man is facing charges after he allegedly assaulted an 86-year-old cab driver in a road rage incident near Logan International Airport, according to CBS.

The incident happened Friday morning near the intersection of Jeffries Road at Transportation Way.

Authorities said Nicholas Franco, of Newton, cut off the cab, pulling in front of it at a traffic light on Harborside Drive.

Massachusetts State Police said Franco walked over to the cab and engaged in a verbal dispute with the driver. He then allegedly pulled the victim’s glasses off and pushed him to the ground — hitting him in the stomach.

Franco proceeded to get back in his car and drive away. He was later arrested in East Boston.
