BOSTON (WBZ-AM) — Boston Mayor Marty Walsh testified Monday before the members of the opioid harm reduction commission.
He talked about his recent visit to safe injection sites in Toronto and Montreal, Canada and made it clear that his recent visit earlier this month was a real eye-opener when it comes to Safe injection sites.
He said while Boston is not ready for safe injection sites now the city should definitely keep it on its radar.
He pointed out that there would have to be some changes, for example, the federal government would have to get involved, and there's also the question of who would pay for it.
In Canada, safe injection sites are paid for at a number of different governmental levels.
