Oskar Schindler's Personal Items Up For Auction In Boston

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A historic auction is happening this week in Boston.

Boston’s RR Auction will be selling Oskar Schindler’s personal items, including a compass that may have saved his life.

“Schindler saved about 1,200 Jews from the gas chambers, and these are some of his personal possessions. So it kind of gives you are really nice insight into Schindler the man,” RR Auction Executive Vice President Bobby Livingston said. “One of the things that he has that is said to have helped him escape from the Russians once the Nazi empire fell was this compass that helped he and his wife escape.”
