BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - In just a few short weeks, we'll be wrapped in a holiday frenzy, and checking the forecast for flakes. As we approach the magical winter season, TripsToDiscover.com is out with their list of the 50 most magical winter wonderland towns in the U.S. and included a dozen New England destinations.

For Massachusetts, Concord and Stockbridge made the list. New Hampshire's North Conway and Lincoln. Bethel, Kennebunkport and York in Maine, along with Burlington, Stowe and Woodstock in Vermont. Rounding out New England are Essex in Connecticut and Newport, Rhode Island.

"Concord has been called the best winter town in Massachusetts (and the most charming), looking like something out of a storybook during the season." The website reads "It’s also one of the most historic towns, settled in 1635 by English Puritan families. You’ll find many historic homes to marvel at with a gorgeous blanket of white powder, including the 1690 Orchard House, one of the country’s most authentically preserved historic home museums. It’s most notable as the home of the Alcott family, the very place where Louisa May Alcott wrote her classic, Little Women."

As for Stockbridge, the website describes the 18th and 19th-century buildings having changed very little over the decades, "and under a dusting of snow, it feels like stepping into a painting"
