BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - It may not be Thanksgiving yet, but Faneuil Hall is getting into the Christmas spirit. It's the first tree the iconic Boston marketplace has had since 2019.

This year's 30 foot Norway spruce comes from Honesdale, Pennsylvania. As the tree was hoisted into position this year, onlookers stopped to take pictures.

Unfortunately it looks more like Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree at the moment. A fact, to which many onlookers agreed.

"It's seen better days." One woman told WBZ's Kim Tunnicliffe.

"It's pretty ugly." Another said "It wouldn't find itself in our house, that's for sure."

"Just wait." Said Jenny Morse, Marketplace Assistant General Manager. "It takes them about three days to get the tree looking picture perfect."

There will not be a “Blink” show this year, but Santa will be on hand to flip a switch to turn all the lights on at a small lighting ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 6 p.m.
