BRIGHTON (WBZNewsRadio) - Mak Thompson never quite made the team, but on Tiktok he's a basketball sensation. So sensational, he caught the eye of WBZ's Matt Shearer last year.

The Brockton native has been featured on ESPN and Sports Center, receiving more than 7 million views on his first video on Facebook. He's even scored brand deals with basketball-related merchandise. But it isn't just the basketball drawing the fans, the 32-year-old includes a comedic twist in his videos while he performs fancy dribbling techniques, prompting many to compare his moves to that of the Harlem Globetrotters.

Coincidentally, Harlem Globetrotter Maxwell Pearce, a.k.a. Hops is in town, promoting their upcoming performance at the TD Garden Dec. 28th. So the pair of ballers met on the court for a friendly game against WBZ's Matt Shearer and Adam Kaufman.

It was Mak versus Max and while Mak couldn't pull out the win, he got a little taste of the Globetrotter-game.

"Mak is great I think today put him to the test and he's ready." Pearce told WBZ's Matt Shearer.
