HAVERHILL, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A third teenager was charged and arraigned on Monday in connection to a large-scale fire at an abandoned mill last month, Haverhill Police said.
Bianca Leonhart, 18, of New Jersey is facing charges of arson of a structure and conspiracy to commit arson.
Two other suspects were charged in the incident, including 18-year-old Isabella Sargent of Haverhill and a 17-year-old minor. Sargent pleaded not guilty at her arraignment last week at Haverhill District Court.
The fire broke out during the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 28. Haverhill fire officials said the majority of the mill on Stevens Street was engulfed in flames when first responders arrived, prompting assistance from several nearby towns.
The fire was extinguished by sunrise. No one was hurt battling the fire, but investigators said the building sustained "significant structural damage.”
The incident remains under investigation.
