Ashland Doctor Under Arrest For Alleged Role In January 6 Capitol Riots

ASHLAND, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A practicing physician in Massachusetts was arrested on Tuesday for her alleged involvement in the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol in 2021.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations issued a statement that Doctor Jacquelyn Starer of Ashland was arrested in her native town on multiple charges including assault, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, and engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds.

According to the criminal complaint filed in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, Starer entered Capitol grounds through the East Rotunda Doors on January 6, 2021, and struck an officer of the Metropolitan Police Department when she was confronted inside. Officials say video from body worn cameras and surveillance captures Starer's altercation with the officer.

Dr. Starer was a per diem employee at Brigham & Women's Faulkner Hospital and is no longer active within the organization, the hospital confirmed to WBZ NewsRadio.

The complaint goes on to say that Starer had reserved a room at the Kimpton George Hotel in Washington D.C. between January 5 and 7 of 2021.

The FBI says that Starer's arrest brings the total number of people arrested from the FBI's Boston Division area of jurisdiction to 19.
