BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Residents across the Bay State say they are tired of doing the temperature tango but hoping that warmer weather is on the horizon.

AccuWeather predicts a high of 63 degrees in Boston Friday, and some western suburbs could even reach 70 degrees. It will be a bit colder on the South Coast, Cape, and Islands with temperatures in the 50s. Friday is also expected to be sunny with some clouds in the afternoon.

It's a welcome reprieve for some Massachusetts residents after this week's cold temperatures, snow flurries, and rain. Some residents in Boston even wore winter coats Thursday morning.

"I'm excited for the weather to be better, for sure," Bill said, while walking in the Back Bay. "Not wearing a jacket. That's the main thing. I would love to not wear a jacket."

Some residents like Michael say they are still skeptical about the possibility of warmer weather in the near future but are hoping for the best.

"Being a New Englander, we have our fall, spring, and then we have second fall, spring and third fall, spring," Michael said. "I'm excited for mud season to start, but cautiously optimistic. That's why I have the baseball hat, yet winter gloves."
