BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — An award-winning public speaking coach and a hip-hop street performer has combined his two passions into teaching people how to overcome their anxieties and to be their most 'authentic selves.'
Kit Pang is the founder of BostonSpeaks and Flash Mob Boston, two separate but related companies.
BostonSpeaks provides communication training, presentation coaching, and leadership development.
Flash Mob Boston organizes free, high-energy public dance events and flash mobs throughout the city that are open to dancers of all skill levels.
Pang said both companies are designed to help people develop the skills and confidence needed to present and perform in front of an audience.
"The common thread is that whether it is BostonSpeaks or Flash Mob Boston, what we are trying to create is a human experience," he said. "Especially now in the AI age, how can we experience moments that are more human?"
Pang said he formed BostonSpeaks about 10 years ago, and Flash Mob Boston about one year ago.
He said both organizations teach people how to overcome public speaking anxiety while creating human experiences that get people out of their shells.
"I've been a hip-hop street performer myself, a professional dancer, so I perform on stages, and on the street," Pang said.
He said performing in a flash mob brings people of all ages and backgrounds together.
"People who go to their first flash mob they always ask, when is the next one? So, once they catch the bug, they're in," he said.
Pang performed in a Boston flash mob on St. Patrick's Day.
He said the next planned performance is a secret.
