Crews Work To Reopen L Street Diner & Pizzeria In South Boston

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Work crews at L Street Diner & Pizzeria in South Boston are deconstructing the inside of the restaurant to eventually reopen it in the future.

This comes after many had long assumed that the pizza shop was shut down after they sold their liquor license to Ballers in the Seaport and have remained closed for the past several months.

“There used to be a sign that said, ‘closed for vacation’, that was probably about 6 months ago,” said Jack, a local.

Crews working on the inside say that the place is set to be remodeled and will open back up again once that’s completed.

L Street Diner has been a favorite of many in the area since it opened its doors back in 1986.

“I thought it’s been very good over the years, “said Jack.  “They serve very good food, they’re good people.”

There is currently no date set for the restaurant to reopen.
