"The Embrace" design. (King Boston)
BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The design has been selected for the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial that will be on the Boston Common.
The group King Boston said that after a yearlong selection process, they have chosen a design called “The Embrace” by artist Hank Willis Thomas and the MASS Design Group.
The monument will be on the Boston Common near where King spoke in 1965. It will be 22 feet high and depict a dome created by hands that are embracing.
