BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Ghana fought England to a 0-0 draw at Boston Stadium in Foxborough Tuesday.

This was the second match for each team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and while neither side came away the winner, Ghana fans were quite happy about the result.

"If we play with England [and] draw, then yes, we consider it as a win for us," said Jacquelin, one of hundreds of Ghana supporters watching the match at FIFA Fan Fest Boston. "Because everybody was saying, 'Oh, they’re gonna beat you guys 5-nil.'"

"We didn’t come into the tournament with so many wins, and we also changed our coach at the very last minute, so to come in and win a match and have a draw with England is a miracle," another fan told WBZ NewsRadio. "We are happy about that."

"It’s my country and I need to support," said Abina, who chanted "away" every time England had the ball. "I’m supporting from afar and they know it."

England fans, on the other hand, were still in good voice despite not getting the expected win.

"We’re lucky that [Ghana] didn’t sneak one, so I’m just happy," one England supporter said. "We’re all right."

"I’m very disappointed because obviously we should have won that game about 2-nil," said another England fan. "I think they’re gonna shrug this one off, [it] might teach them a lesson."

Ghana and England's next matches are on Saturday, June 27 against Croatia and Panama, respectively.
