BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The great Allston snow pile is finally starting to melt.
For those driving near the Allston Cambridge Turnpike Ramps, there is a clear and ugly sign that summer is approaching. Standing on top of the Doubletree Suites by Hilton Hotel, you can get a good bird's eye view of the last remnants of what used to be a massive pile of snow.
Although it's nothing compared to what it looked like in February, it looks even worse after the high temperatures the last couple of days felt more like July than May.

Sophia, a sales coordinator at the hotel who's been working here for three years, says this year's snow pile was the biggest she's ever seen.
"It always kind of looked dirty," she said. "It was never pretty white snow, but it was huge, I will say."
While Sophia is skeptical that their is actually any snow left cluster of mud, according to Accuweather, temperatures during Memorial Day weekend won't surpass the high 60s, so the pile will live to see another day. Another snow pile made headlines in Boston nearly a decade ago when the final remnants of a 70-foot snow pile took until July to finally melt away.
