PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A town on the South Shore is once again being used as a location for a Hollywood production.

On Tuesday, production crews were out in Plymouth shooting scenes for the film adaptation of the television series "The Summer I Turned Pretty."

The Amazon Prime Video series debuted in 2022.

Residents have been receiving notices from the town about this latest production and to communicate the schedule of road closures. "It said the dates and the name of the movie, so yes, we knew it was happening," one resident said.

The romantic drama stars Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, and Gavin Casalegno in both the series and in the upcoming movie.

Despite the inconveniences in Plymouth the production is causing like lack of parking and road closures, residents don't seem to mind. "It's a little bit cool, and a bit of excitement in the day."

Plymouth's downtown area and its waterfront in particular are valued for their authentic historical and coastal backdrops.

Just a few of the other productions that used Plymouth locations include "The Judge," "Osmosis," "Hocus Pocus," and "At the Sea."
