BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Just when you thought it was over, Massachusetts is seemingly throwing us another arctic front.

The National Weather Service posted to X on Thursday, warning Mass. residents of an incoming winter flurry this weekend. Snow is expected to arrive Friday night and lead into Saturday, accumulating generally 1-2 inches, while the Cape Cod and the South Shore could get 2-3 inches.

Extreme cold is projected to follow the snow, with hazardous wind chills making temperatures feel as low as 30 degrees. Low temperatures are said to linger until Monday.

Officials have said that residents should be mindful of their pets' attire when going outside as well. Single-haired or hairless dogs, as well as smaller or older dogs, can benefit from wearing another layer when outdoors.
