Lowell Duo Faces Kidnapping Charges Related To Man's Suspicious Death

LOWELL, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — After a man was found dead inside their home on Friday, a pair of Lowell residents are facing kidnapping charges in connection to his suspicious death, the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office said.

The 37-year-old victim was discovered inside the Coburn Street residence of 38-year-old Michael Burke and 38-year-old Samantha Perry, during a well-being check from police. Once a search warrant was issued, police found the victim whose body showed signs that he was held against his will at one point, police say.

The victim remains unidentified, as the Office of Chief Medical Examiner determines what his cause of death was. Though preliminary investigation suggests this was an isolated incident, police are investigating the victim's death as suspicious.

Burke and Perry were arraigned on Monday in Lowell District Court, the pair was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing that will happen on December 14.
