BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, but when life gives you a winter storm, you have to get a little more creative.
As frigid temperatures and blankets of snow continue to overtake Massachusetts, some residents are thinking outside the box when it comes to repurposing the ample flurries left on the ground. Some people make snowmen, others make snow forts, but a trio on Wyndham Road in Boston is taking it up a notch.
"We have our colorful igloo, and it's the best thing ever, I think," Eleni said.
Eleni and her friends, Allyse and Hannah, have been hard at work building up their own icehouse. They say it all started with some tips from YouTube and a trip to the dollar store.

"We got the lasagna trays, we filled them up with water, it's been so cold, and we just, we let them be outside," said Eleni.
Day by day, the igloo is taking shape here on Wyndham Road. And despite this being their first attempt, they've got things under control.
"You have to put them, like, horizontal at the bottom to make a nice foundation," said Eleni.
All that's left to build is the roof, but the clock is ticking.
"We had so many kids come over and be like, oh my god, it looks awesome, like, when are you gonna finish? And, like, now we feel like we have a mission to finish this, you know? Not just for us, for everyone," said Alysse.
