BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — First Lady Melania Trump's documentary is out, but tickets aren't selling in theaters around Boston.
Amazon MGM Studios film "Melania," directed by Brett Ratner, released in theaters on Friday to little fanfare in Boston. As of Thursday evening, the Boston Common Theater sold under 20 tickets across all four showings on opening day. The AMC on Causeway Street sold under five, and the other Boston theaters had similar numbers.
BoxOffice Pro projected that the film, produced by Mrs. Trump would bring in a few million on the opening weekend. Amazon MGM Studios spent $40 million for the rights, and another $35 million on marketing and promoting it.

While some moviegoers declined to give specific reasons as to why they don't plan on purchasing a ticket for the movie, Connor from Boston said he just isn't interested in seeing it.
"Hell no," Connor said. "Sinners is back in theaters. Everyone wants to see, like, good movies. I don't know if anyone's really jiving with it. I know I'm not."
Ticket sales for the documentary have reportedly been slow across the nation, and overseas. The film's theatrical release was canceled in South Africa, but the reasons remain unclear, according to the New York Times.
