PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Millions of people are hitting the road, rails, and runways for Memorial Day despite the messy forecast and high gas prices.
Memorial Day weekend is supposed to be the unofficial start of summer, but this year's forecast doesn't look anything like that.
According to AccuWeather, the holiday will be dominated by rain, with clouds breaking for some afternoon sun and highs in the low 70s.
Residents at the rest stop along Route 3 in Plymouth are disappointed, especially after record warm temperatures earlier in the week.

"It seems like the good weather has been during the week, you know, during the work week, so yeah, definitely, definitely a bummer," one traveler said.
Another point of contention for some is the average price of a gallon of gas, up over $1.50 from this time last year. Some residents, like Scott, say they are powering through regardless.
"I don't look at mine when I fill it up because I gotta fill it up. There's no point looking at that number and getting depressed," he said.
