Police Discover Potential Fetal, Infant Remains In South Boston Apartment

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — On Thursday afternoon, Boston Police officers responded to a residence on East Broadway in South Boston to find what they say were remains of a human fetus or infant.

The Boston Police Homicide Detectives and Suffolk County District Attorney's Office are investigating the incident, and ask that anyone with related information come forward to police. According to WBZ-TV the remains were apparently found inside an upstairs apartment's freezer.

WBZ's James Rojas spoke to Boston Mayor Michelle Wu about the grim discovery.

"This is a really disturbing situation— that shows some desperation from individuals somewhere. It's an example of the kind of responses that are first responders are ready to jump into and support every single day. We don't have much detail to share publicly, this is still being investigated actively," Wu said.
