BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Red Sox have unveiled the next batch of hall-of-famers from the team's storied history.
Johnny Damon, Jon Lester, and Mike Timlin will be inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2026. An induction ceremony is expected to take place in the spring, once the season gets underway. Red Sox relief pitcher Mike Timlin reflected on his selection while at Saturday's Fenway Fest, where the announcement was made.
"It's a little overwhelming. I've never really considered myself to be that level of a player," said Timlin.
Timlin, a member of two Red Sox World Series championship teams, is also among the franchise leaders in games pitched, with 394 appearances on the mound. That's the fifth most in team history, and third most among relievers. His 28 postseason appearances are the most by any pitcher in Red Sox history.

"You look at it, and you see it as pretty dang special for having so many years of futility, guys coming up short, teams coming up short, 162 games, it's a tough grind to reach the pinnacle as many times as I've done it in my career. Yeah, it's pretty amazing," Timlin said.
According to the team, the Hall of Fame was created in 1995 to recognize the contributions and careers of players and managers who were affiliated with the team for at least three years.
